Chapter 19
Xie Yao’s expression stiffened for a moment. He just lowered his head and looked at Yuli.
Yuli held him, able to feel the rise and fall of his chest.
He was not as unmoved as he appeared on the surface.
But he made no further move.
He was probably still angry and didn’t want her to touch him.
Yuli was about to let him go. He suddenly raised his hand and held her tight.
They were pressed closely together, separated by their robes.
Xie Yao lowered his head to look at her, pursing his lips. “More.”
Yuli was taken aback. She looked at his lips, which were unusually red after being pursed, and understood. She stood on her tiptoes again and kissed his lips.
It was very soft, with a fragrant scent. Yuli didn’t find it repulsive.
She stood properly, saw Xie Yao blink, and then she saw the ice and snow melt, and the spring water surge.
But then he blinked again, and it was gone, replaced by a dark abyss.
Yuli was slightly stunned. His face suddenly drew near, her lips grew warm, and at the same time, his embrace tightened. Yuli suddenly found it difficult to breathe.
Every breath she took was filled with Xie Yao’s subtle fragrance. Her lips and tongue were heavily crushed by his, and just as they went numb, he sucked on them.
A strange, tingling numbness shot to her head and then spread throughout her body. The parts of her body in contact with him suddenly went soft and couldn’t stand.
After a short while, her breathing weakened. The sound of Xie Yao’s breathing thundered in her ears, along with a decadent, moist sound that made her blush with shame. She wanted to push him away but couldn’t.
After a short while, which felt like a long time, Yuli felt a hard object pressing against her lower abdomen.
She felt uncomfortable and unconsciously moved.
Xie Yao’s breath hitched, and he suddenly let her go.
Yuli was still in a daze, panting through her mouth and nose. When she realized what it was, her face turned as red as if it were about to bleed.
Xie Yao lowered his head to look at her, not missing a single reaction. Her eyes were bright and shimmering, her cheeks were flushed, and her gaze was evasive, but it was out of shyness.
Her bangs were slightly damp; she looked very hot.
Xie Yao let go of her completely.
Yuli retreated a little and also looked at Xie Yao’s face. He was not much better off than her. He was also sweating, and his face was redder than usual, but his eyes were deep, showing no shyness.
Just now, she had thought he was angry and crazy, that he didn’t even want her to touch him. It seemed he still liked her touching him.
Xie Yao was impassive, but the cold aura was gone. Yuli was suddenly no longer afraid.
“Let’s eat first?” Yuli asked him. After all that, she was both hungry and thirsty.
Xie Yao hummed faintly in agreement.
Yuli turned her head but didn’t see Xiyun and Jingyu.
Only then did she remember that when they had returned just now, they had bowed and withdrawn.
They hadn’t even had time to pour a cup of water.
Yuli looked at Xie Yao again. His expression was inscrutable, still a little scary. Xiyun and Jingyu must have been terrified just now.
Good thing she had turned the tide.
“What’s wrong?” She kept looking at him, and Xie Yao asked.
“Husband, please don’t be angry anymore, okay?” she said.
Xie Yao paused. “Let’s eat first.”
She couldn’t see through him at all. Yuli went out to find someone.
She took a few steps and then looked back at him, still worried. Xie Yao met her gaze, his expression normal, showing no joy or anger.
After Yuli had left the gate of Mingyue Residence, the corners of Xie Yao’s lips moved slightly.
She was afraid he was angry.
Afraid of him but satisfying him, rather than avoiding and loathing him. She had him in her heart.
Xie Yao’s smile deepened, then returned to its usual calm inscrutability before Yuli returned.
During lunch, Yuli kept observing Xie Yao’s expression. Xie Yao seemed not to notice and paid it no mind.
After the meal, Yuli wanted to take a nap, but Xie Yao was there, and she didn’t want him to leave.
She had a feeling that if he left now, he would go and kill a few people to vent his anger.
Yuli mustered up her courage. “Does Husband want to take a nap? You can rest here.”
Xie Yao looked at her. “I don’t have the habit of taking afternoon naps.”
Yuli had nothing more to say and planned to accompany him, not sleeping either.
But Xie Yao said he was leaving.
Yuli quickly asked, “Where are you going?”
Xie Yao: “To take care of business matters.”
Yuli asked again, “Are you coming back tonight?”
Xie Yao saw her reluctance. Although he knew why she was like this, he couldn’t help but be moved.
Xie Yao’s expression softened, and a hint of a smile touched his lips. “I will.”
Seeing him finally smile, Yuli also relaxed a lot. She smiled back at him.
“I’ll prepare something delicious for you.”
Xie Yao hummed in agreement and turned to leave.
After Xie Yao left, Yuli went to see Xuemi. It had been frightened by Xie Yao and was hiding in its nest, not coming out. Yuli used a cloth ball to coax it out and then held it to comfort it for a while before it was okay.
Seeing Xuemi recover, Yuli also cheered up.
Not long after, Xiyun also returned. Seeing that Yuli was still happy, the fright she had received just now was also thrown to the back of her mind.
Yuli lay down on the bed and only dozed off for a while before getting up. Her heart was still in suspense, and she couldn’t calm down no matter what.
When she woke up, the moment she moved, Xiyun rushed in.
Usually, Xiyun would also take a short nap. It seemed she had been guarding outside the room all this time. She had also been deeply affected.
But Xiyun pretended to be nonchalant, brought her water to wash her face, and then fanned her without a trace.
Yuli took the round fan and fanned herself. Xiyun then poured her a glass of clear water.
Watching Xiyun busy herself, Yuli suddenly made up her mind.
Tonight, she would consummate the marriage with Xie Yao.
After making the decision, she was no longer flustered. Yes, the crux of the matter was here.
Yuli decided to fight for a better first time for herself.
In the original book, due to the large number of indescribable words, although there were many bed scenes, there were no detailed descriptions. Besides some bloody scenes and some mutually tormenting lines, it was all conveyed through indirect means.
Time and again, the maids would see the heroine covered in bruises and gasp.
Or time and again, she would be unable to get out of bed for three days.
Three days. Even when she had COVID and her whole body was in excruciating pain, she had only been unable to get up for two days. What kind of torture would it take to be like that for three days?
Although Yuli had no experience in this, she had surfed the internet extensively and had read a lot of educational material on the subject.
With the proper techniques, the first time could be painless.
The key was foreplay.
Yuli thought, even if she couldn’t be filled with love with Xie Yao, she had to create a full atmosphere, where the two of them were willing and things happened naturally.
First, it had to be when Xie Yao was in a good mood, not like in the original book, where every time was when Xie Yao was furious, turning the most intimate act of love into a form of torture.
Then, she had to take the initiative to guide him, to make him more patient…
Yuli suddenly realized that she had no idea how to do foreplay.
She could only improvise when the time came.
This time, Yuli took the initiative to take out the incense Xie Yao had given her, chose a romantic-smelling one, and scented the bedchamber in advance.
Dusk fell.
Yuli became more and more nervous, constantly having second thoughts.
Xie Yao had been angry today, so his mood was not good. Maybe another day?
No, it was better to change the plot sooner rather than later. What if he suddenly went crazy like today again? She wouldn’t even have a chance to react.
But what if she took the initiative and he refused?
Would he refuse?
Usually, Yuli was sure he wouldn’t. But today, it was hard to say.
She went back and forth like this several times.
Yuli suddenly called out for Jingyu and asked, “Is there any wine in the residence?”
