Chapter 68

The two who had hit it off immediately discussed the plans for starting the magazine agency a bit longer in this unremarkable little teahouse.

The rough outline of the magazine agency took shape.

“Teacher Qiao, why don’t you come up with a name for our magazine agency?”

Weng Kanya looked at Qiao Shu with eager anticipation. She truly hadn’t imagined there would ever come a day when she could start a magazine agency with her goddess.

Although she had been the one to come up with the idea, she hadn’t been a hundred percent sure she could convince Qiao Shu.

Especially after seeing just how stunningly beautiful Qiao Shu was in person—she had even less confidence.

“A name for the magazine agency?”

Hearing Weng Kanya’s request, Qiao Shu immediately felt stumped. Although she made her living by writing stories, she was terrible at coming up with names.

Hadn’t the names for all her fairy tales been “borrowed” from her two little nephews?

“You think of one. You’re the president.”

And so, without a second thought, Qiao Shu tossed this incredibly tricky task for her over to Weng Kanya.

However, at that moment, Qiao Shu truly hadn’t realized that handing the naming duty to Weng Kanya was the worst possible choice!!!

Who could have guessed that Weng Kanya was even worse at naming than she was! Especially since the name she came up with was just a tiny bit… embarrassing.

But at the time, Qiao Shu was completely oblivious. Since she didn’t want the hassle or to rack her brains, she handed the responsibility straight to Weng Kanya.

“Got it! I’ll definitely come up with a great one!!”

Weng Kanya had no idea that Qiao Shu was just foisting the troublesome task onto her because she thought her goddess trusted and valued her!

And so, she immediately resolved to come up with something grand and impressive when she got home—something that perfectly suited her goddess!!!

Once they had wrapped up their discussion, Qiao Shu prepared to part ways with Weng Kanya and leave the little teahouse.

Before leaving, she gave Weng Kanya the Feng Family’s phone number and told her to call that number if anything came up in the future.

She even slipped some money under the teacup when she stood up from the table.

Weng Kanya clutched the phone number her goddess had written for her, her face full of excitement. When she saw this, she couldn’t help feeling puzzled.

“Teacher Qiao, didn’t you already pay for the tea?”

Earlier, Weng Kanya had planned to treat, so she had slipped up to the front to settle the bill, only to discover that her goddess had already paid ahead of time.

“Mm, but these little tea snacks weren’t covered, so this is for them.”

Qiao Shu smiled without further explanation.

After leaving the money behind, she hurried out, lest she walked a bit too slowly and got held up by that female server.

Perplexed, Weng Kanya followed Qiao Shu out of the teahouse. Only then did she belatedly notice that the young man in military uniform who had been sitting at the table next to theirs the whole time was actually with Qiao Shu.

When she saw the young man in uniform trot past them and open the car door of the sedan for Qiao Shu, she was utterly stunned. Her eyes went wide as she stared at the scene.

And in her heart, she couldn’t help exclaiming, ‘Good lord! What kind of background does her goddess have!’

Although Weng Kanya had always known Qiao Shu’s address was in the Military District Compound area, it hadn’t been detailed enough, so she hadn’t thought much of it. After all, there were tons of Military Compounds!

And even living in a Military Compound didn’t necessarily mean much.

But having a personal attendant soldier follow her around? That was different!

There had to be a high-ranking officer elder in her family—otherwise, how could she have that kind of setup!

In an instant, Weng Kanya’s imagination ran wild, and the way she looked at Qiao Shu filled with even more admiration!

After all, a heavenly favorite like Qiao Shu, who was not only super beautiful but had an incredibly impressive background, could have done nothing at all and still outshone countless people just by lying there.

Yet she possessed talents others lacked and was working hard for them…

With that in mind, Weng Kanya felt their magazine agency was bound for success!

After all, they had an exceptional founder like Qiao Shu!!!

“Sister Kanya, where’s your home? Do you need a ride?”

After getting into the car, Qiao Shu looked at the dazed Weng Kanya and smiled as she asked.

Hearing Qiao Shu’s clear, sweet voice, Weng Kanya finally snapped back to reality.

“No need, no need. I’ll just take the bus. You go ahead, Teacher Qiao.”

“Alright, then I’ll head out first. We’ll stay in touch by phone if anything comes up.”

Seeing Weng Kanya waving her hands in refusal, Qiao Shu smiled, said nothing more, and had Xiao Li drive them home.

Sitting in the sedan, Qiao Shu gazed at the scenery flashing by outside the window. Her mind was entirely on the matter of starting the magazine agency.

Although she wasn’t sure yet if the magazine agency she was starting with Weng Kanya would succeed, since they were doing it, she couldn’t just let Weng Kanya handle all the startup procedures alone—or foot most of the investment costs.

So she pondered how to get some funding.

Although Weng Kanya had said this was her contributing skills as shares, and that her stories were the best investment the magazine agency could have—better than money—

She still needed to put in some money of her own…

After racking her brains, Qiao Shu came up empty.

She thought helplessly, did she have to borrow money from the Feng Family Members? But she really didn’t want to do that…

She knew they treated her wonderfully and would surely lend it to her if she asked, but Qiao Shu just didn’t want to.

After all, she had only just accepted a Courtyard House worth sixty thousand yuan from them not long ago!

Borrow from her parents??? But wouldn’t they worry something had happened to her at home…

As Qiao Shu agonized over the money, she had no idea that just a few days later, she would get an unexpected windfall—

“Feng Xiao, that kid—hasn’t he only been gone a short while, and he’s already writing you letters.”

“We never saw him sending letters home so diligently before.”

“See? Once he gets a wife, he forgets his mom~!”

Ever since Qiao Shu’s last frank and open talk with He Hong, although the Feng Family Members still felt a bit guilty toward her, they respected the young woman’s choice and accepted her being with the “physically flawed” Feng Xiao.

So when they saw Feng Xiao hurriedly mailing a letter back to Qiao Shu after returning to his unit, they all teased the young couple.

Seeing the Feng Family Members teasing her and Feng Xiao with faces full of smiles, Qiao Shu hugged He Hong’s arm and started acting spoiled.

After some coquetry and cuteness in front of the elders, Qiao Shu curiously took Feng Xiao’s letter back to her study to read it.

The moment she opened the letter Feng Xiao had sent her, she was stunned!

Because—Feng Xiao had sent her money!!!

He had sent her his wages?!!
