Siblings Work in Business (69)
Eun-ho and Eun-ji’s dance video was originally planned to be filmed with Cloud Dance Team.
The proper shoot with the dance team was scheduled for two days later, at a different studio.
Which meant…
Today’s shoot was for a short, 30-second clip.
But a short clip didn’t always mean a short filming time.
If the subjects made mistakes, even a 10-second…
Or a single, fleeting shot… could take an entire day to film.
When he first met the siblings…
PD Kim’s only wish was to finish filming within the given two hours.
But as they started filming, his thoughts gradually changed as he repeatedly yelled “Action” and “Cut.”
He enjoyed filming after a long time, as they kept shooting from different angles.
‘Subjects who perfectly execute every request and even nail the vague ‘feel’ instructions…’
It had been a long time since he felt this passionate about filming.
And now…
They had filmed most of the necessary scenes, and if the monitoring went well, they just had to film the ending scene.
Kim Cheol-soo chuckled, watching the two staring at the monitor with identical expressions.
After the monitoring…
Since there seemed to be no problems with the footage, the two continued their discussion—or rather, argument—about their own issues.
“Manage your expressions. Why are you half-closing your eyes the whole time? Can’t you make any other expression besides looking constipated?”
“Constipated? I was just copying your expression.”
“That’s my expression? As if.”
“Look in the mirror.”
“I don’t need to. I look better than that rockfish head.”
R-Rockfish?
“Well, well. Look who’s talking, pumpkin.”
P-Pumpkin?
Was rockfish and pumpkin some kind of slang in their neighborhood?
From PD Kim Cheol-soo’s perspective, this was the most flawless shoot he had had in years…
But he was speechless again.
For a different reason than when he was impressed during the shoot.
“Well, even a vegetable is better than a fish head, right?”
“Vegetable? You mean, not ‘yasai’ (another word for vegetable)?”
“What…?”
He paused.
It was an unexpected question.
“It’s… the same thing!”
“The same? You mean they’re the same?”
Eun-ji tried to retort and brush it off, but her voice trembled.
“W-Well—”
While Eun-ji stalled, searching for an answer…
Eun-ho was waiting leisurely, as if she was under his control.
Eun-ji’s eyes darted around.
Time passed, but she couldn’t seem to form a sentence.
“Wow. Lee Eun-ji, you don’t know the difference between ‘chae-so’ and ‘ya-chae’?”
“I-I know! You—you were the one who—”
“Yes, I told you. So what?”
“S-So!”
As Eun-ji yelled, laughter erupted from the staff around them.
From a third-party perspective, Eun-ho had clearly won the argument.
“…T-That’s not the point!”
Eun-ji, refusing to admit defeat, yelled and turned away.
As she did, Kim Cheol-soo and the staff thought with a smile,
‘She doesn’t know.’
Kim Cheol-soo, looking at Eun-ji, who was like a hissing cat, was reminded of his cat being startled by a cucumber and then hissing at him.
“Haha, ahem, now, now, why are you fighting when the footage turned out so well?”
PD Kim, after chuckling for a while, composed himself and tried to mediate.
Eun-ji looked at PD Kim with sparkling eyes, as if he was her savior.
PD Kim barely managed to suppress his laughter.
“Ahem, if there are no problems, shall we continue? You should eat soon after we finish filming.”
“Yes!”
Eun-ji, forgetting her previous complaints at the mention of lunch boxes, replied energetically.
“She’s so simple-minded—”
“What?”
“Nothing.”
Eun-ho chuckled quietly at Eun-ji, then turned back towards the camera.
Since there were no problems during monitoring, filming continued without a hitch.
“Ready, action!”
As they resumed filming, the bickering siblings were nowhere to be seen.
‘Amazing.’
As “DUO” started playing again, Eun-ho and Eun-ji focused on their performance.
Who would know they had been arguing just moments ago?
Eun-ho and Eun-ji on the monitor, which was showing the live feed, smiled at each other, and then their eyes glistened with tears, as if they had met someone they missed.
“Good! Cut!”
PD Kim showered them with praise.
“Thank you for your hard work!”
The allotted filming time was two hours, from 11 am to 1 pm.
But it was currently 11:40 am.
They finished filming the entire script within 30 minutes, and the remaining 10 minutes were spent filming additional scenes and bonus cuts.
“Eun-ho, Eun-ji, come here.”
Who would dislike someone who let them leave work early?
Especially when the results were excellent…
PD Kim Cheol-soo’s gaze towards the siblings was filled with affection.
“Come and eat.”
As PD Kim called them over, even bringing them lunch boxes himself, the surrounding staff members looked at him with surprise, as if this was unusual for him.
Eun-ho and Eun-ji ended up eating with PD Kim.
They seemed unconcerned about eating with the PD, their expressions focused on their food.
The bean sprout soup had cooled down after being left out for a while.
But Eun-ho, who preferred cold food, seemed refreshed after taking a sip.
—You have a message!
Just as they were engrossed in their meal…
Eun-ji, startled by the notification, stopped eating.
The phone belonged to PD Kim Cheol-soo.
She wasn’t usually the type to be interested in other people’s phones, but today, Eun-ji’s gaze was instinctively drawn to PD Kim’s phone.
It was because of his lock screen.
A calico cat with three colors beautifully blended was already eye-catching enough…
But the cat was yawning, its mouth open in a diamond shape (◇), how could she not look?
“…Is this cat yours, PD-nim?”
“Isn’t he cute? He’s my cat, Badugi.”
“Even his name is cute. Oh my…”
Unable to contain her curiosity, Eun-ji asked, and PD Kim answered with a proud smile.
He then quickly unlocked his phone.
As if having forgotten about the message he just received, PD Kim’s index finger instinctively opened the photo gallery.
“Kyaa!”
Eun-ji’s eyes sparkled.
PD Kim’s phone was filled with pictures of Badugi, the calico cat, in various poses and with various expressions.
“Oh my god.”
“Isn’t he cute?”
“Yes…! Where did you meet him?”
“Hehe, CEO Park rescued a few kittens a while ago… four, I think? But Badugi and another one couldn’t get along with the others, so he asked me to foster them temporarily.”
“Did you name him Badugi because of his markings?”
“No. My name is a bit unique, isn’t it?”
“Hmm, I can’t deny that, haha…”
As Eun-ji replied honestly, PD Kim, seemingly liking her straightforwardness, laughed heartily and continued,
“When CEO Park brought him over, I asked for his name, and he said it was Badugi, whether he was joking or not.”
“The CEO?”
This time, it was Eun-ho who asked.
“I thought you said you met him through Senior Ji Ye-chan before the shoot—”
Eun-ho, who had been focused on his soup, suddenly looked up, intrigued by the mention of CEO Park.
「“CEO Park asked Ye-chan if he knew anyone who could help with the filming, and Ye-chan recommended me, so ta-da, here I am.”」
PD Kim had actually said that.
Then…
As Eun-ho asked with a puzzled expression, PD Kim smiled mischievously and asked him back,
“Hmm~ Didn’t I say when it happened?”
Eun-ho stared at PD Kim with wide eyes, as if he had been hit on the back of the head.
“Hehe, it was during the filming of Toxin’s music video. Sorry for teasing you.”
The teasing was no longer the issue.
Eun-ho asked PD Kim with wide eyes,
“…Senior Toxin’s music video?”
“Yes, Toxin. This background should look familiar if you’ve seen their music videos.”
“The background looks familiar…?”
While Eun-ho looked around with a surprised expression, Eun-ji, still engrossed in Badugi on PD Kim’s phone, muttered, “Oh my god, I’m going crazy, he’s so cute.”
Eun-ho pondered, carefully looking around.
‘It does feel familiar…’
The three-dimensional, Nordic-style walls, like an ancient fortress.
Perhaps because of what he just heard…
During Toxin’s peak popularity…
There was a saying that even spies knew about Toxin.
Their popularity even led to a world tour, they were at the top.
PD Kim, seeing Eun-ho struggling, gave him a hint.
“Shout.”
“…Shout until your throat is raw?”
Eun-ho’s eyes widened as he instinctively sang the lyrics that came to mind.
“Did you film ‘Shout’ here?”
“It’s a secret, but we filmed a lot of other things here too. We definitely got our money’s worth for this set.”
Eun-ho let out a short exclamation and looked around the set again.
Meanwhile, Eun-ji, still engrossed in Badugi, suddenly asked,
“Why are we talking about ‘Shout’ all of a sudden?”
“You don’t know?”
“Of course I know ‘Shout.’ I’m asking why we’re talking about it.”
Eun-ji grumbled, as if she felt left out.
Normally, Eun-ho would have teased her, calling her an idiot.
But perhaps because this was the filming location of “Shout,” a historical place for fellow musicians, Eun-ho calmly explained to Eun-ji,
“Do you know whose song ‘Shout’ is?”
“Of course, it’s Senior Toxin’s first hit song.”
“They filmed the music video for ‘Shout’ here.”
“Oh, wait… what?”
Eun-ji’s smile froze.
As she gradually understood, her expression turned to shock.
“Here?”
“Yeah.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Who?”
“PD Cheol-soo just told us.”
“Holy crap, that’s amazing.”
