The Siblings Do Business Together 137

Siblings Work in Business (137)

“Thanks to our rich CEO, we get to use this extravagant penthouse for free for a day, so we might as well make the most of it, right?”

“Haha.”

PD Kim, smiling at Eun-ho, who belonged to that “rich CEO,” was wearing a dark navy suit, as if matching the scenery.

Perhaps because they had become closer after the pension trip, PD Kim was speaking to Eun-ho casually. His hair, recently cut, was short enough to reveal his eyebrows, barely touching his ears.

PD Kim, turning his attention to Eun-ho, put one hand in his pocket and looked around the messy living room, checking for any problems.

“By the way, I heard you’re keeping a cat now? The CEO told me.”

“Ah, yes. It’s not really ‘keeping,’ since it’s already grown, but…”

Eun-ho replied, a bit flustered.

PD Kim, seemingly unfazed, continued, his gaze still fixed ahead,

“What kind of cat is it?”

“Well, just a black…”

“Oh, its eyes? If its fur is black, are its eyes yellow? Blue? What about its beans?”

“Yes. Ah, y-yellow.”

PD Kim turned around and asked excitedly, and Eun-ho stuttered, flustered by his sudden attention.

“What are ‘beans’?”

“Paw pads. Cat paw pads are called beans because they look like jelly beans.”

“Ah, like ‘nyang-ppal’ (cat bath).”

“Yes. You even know about that?”

“I searched it up. The things it hates.”

It’s funny that I searched for ways to annoy a cat.

I felt a wave of embarrassment, but PD Kim’s next question brought me back.

“So, what color are its beans?”

“Um, I don’t know, since it hates me. It’s usually with Eun-ji.”

How did the topic shift to cats?

I asked PD Kim,

“Um… but why are you here…?”

Where was Director Kim Myeong-hun from Longing Project, who was supposed to be in charge of today’s shoot, and why was PD Kim Cheol-soo here?

“I heard you’re working with Longing for the music video.”

“Ah, yes.”

“I thought you’d work with Dark Ocean again after how well ‘DUO’ turned out. Were they not good?”

“It’s not that, they were already booked.”

“Ah, I see. You were wondering why I’m here, weren’t you?”

“…Yes.”

‘Why are you here?’

‘Why are you here?’

I had been wondering how to ask without sounding rude, so I was grateful he brought it up first.

“Myeong-hun from Longing is my junior.”

“Eh?”

A stupid question slipped out.

PD Kim, amused by my reaction, burst out laughing.

Then, shaking his head, he explained,

“You have a lot to prepare for this music video, with all the different styles, and the schedule is tight.”

“That’s true.”

“So… yeah.”

“Ah…”

“I heard my hoobae was working on your video, so I came to help.”

He said, holding a thick shooting script.

‘This industry is really small.’

Just then, I heard the familiar clicking of high heels, and I turned around to see Eun-ji returning from exploring the penthouse.

The sound seemed to echo on the marble floor.

「“I don’t get to wear these often, so I have to wear them now!”」

I always remembered that whenever I saw Eun-ji wearing heels.

She was self-conscious about her height and didn’t like wearing heels.

But Seul-gi, wanting to incorporate Eun-ji’s preferences into her styling, asked her if she preferred heels or sneakers, and unlike me, who told her to choose whatever, Eun-ji insisted on wearing high heels for the shoots, as long as she wasn’t barefoot.

So, Eun-ji was wearing black 8cm high heels that matched her outfit.

Seul-gi even mentioned the brand name of the heels with red soles…

「“No way, those?”」

「“I worked hard to get a sponsorship for our Eun-ji-nim. How do you like them?”」

Now that I tried to remember, I couldn’t recall the brand, only Eun-ji’s excited squeal.

Because of her, I also had to wear insoles, which I rarely did.

“Lee Eun-hoooo, uh, uh, uh!!!”

She forgot my name again.

“PD Kim Cheol-soo.”

“Oh, oh! That’s right! PD-nim!”

I gave her a hint, and she finally remembered.

“Calico cat! Badugi! Pension! Th-That, ‘Wise’ and ‘Hot Afternoon’!”

“Ding dong daeng!”

It felt like a quiz show.

PD Kim even played along with the “Ding dong daeng” sound effect.

Normally, I would have told her off for being disrespectful, but he seemed to know Eun-ji well and just let it slide.

“Alright, enough greetings! I have to work too, since I’m here to help.”

“Okay!”

“Let’s start with the photoshoot, as planned.”

“Okay!”

Eun-ji replied enthusiastically to every word he said, and PD Kim’s expression brightened.

“…”

Finally, it was time.

As soon as he mentioned the photoshoot, Seul-gi came running with a suit jacket.

I was a bit embarrassed about taking off my shirt, despite working out recently.

But if you can’t avoid it, enjoy it, as they say. I quickly took off my white t-shirt and put on the jacket.

Seul-gi then used brown makeup to create shadows on my abs, to make them stand out more on camera.

After she finished, I looked in the mirror and was surprised.

‘So, this is why makeup is important… oh…’

Even without pumping up, my muscles looked defined.

I finally understood why Eun-ji always bragged about how good her makeup looked. That pumpkin probably looked like a watermelon with some contouring.

I looked away from the mirror and looked for Eun-ji.

“Hey, hey, Lee Eun-ji.”

“What— eek!”

‘Gyaak’?

Eun-ji, covering her eyes with both hands, fumbled towards Seul-gi.

“Unnie, can I get some eye drops, please?”

“Huh? Eye drops?”

“Yes, that seafood ruined my eyes. Sob

“Haha, what a drama queen…”

I had called her over to tease her, but her reaction was more dramatic than I expected.

I chuckled in amusement.

The shoot took place in the messy living room of the penthouse. A black sofa was placed in the center.

“Good, a bit more tired-looking! Yes! Lean against the sofa! Perfect!”

I leaned against the sofa as instructed.

Then, I sat on the floor amidst the scattered bottles, lay down on the brown carpet… we must have taken hundreds of pictures.

“Do you have a bouquet?”

“Yes, we do!”

A staff member brought a slightly disheveled-looking bouquet, seemingly not freshly made.

“That spot would be good, Eun-ho!”

“Okay.”

“Now, hold this and… just stand there however you like.”

“Okay.”

I took the slightly messy bouquet, and followed his instructions to a blank white wall near the stairs on the second floor.

“Reflector!”

The photographer yelled, and a staff member rushed over with a large reflector.

Just as I casually leaned against the wall and sat down…

‘Ah, he said “stand,” didn’t he?’

I realized my mistake and tried to get up.

“Stay seated!!!… please.”

“Oh, yes. S-Sorry.”

“It’s fine! Perfect! That’s it! That’s what I wanted!”

Startled by the photographer’s sudden outburst, I sat back down.

This morning…

Director Kang Mi-joo had greeted us enthusiastically, but her gaze, as she meticulously styled our hair and makeup, was the same as the photographer’s now.

Why did the photographer’s frantic shutter clicks remind me of Director Kang Mi-joo from Cellas?

…It must be my imagination.

After my slightly terrifying photoshoot, it was Eun-ji’s turn.

Eun-ji, after her shoot, slowly approached me, looking a bit shaken.

“What?”

“That photographer… he’s a bit scary…”

“Ah.”

“His… gaze…”

“Cellas.”

“Yeah, he was like Director Mi-joo.”

It seemed like I wasn’t the only one who sensed that ‘intensity.’

“He must be very passionate about his work…”

“I guess…”

PD Kim’s usually cold gaze was strangely comforting.

After the photoshoot, we went straight into filming the music video with PD Kim.

“Eun-ji and Eun-ho will start by sitting on the sofa here. Walk in with a swagger.”

“Okay.”

“Then, brush the potato chips off the table, and then move that brown bottle out of the way. Like it’s bothering you, alright?”

“Okay.”

“Let’s try it once.”

[About the new song…

Is it another collaboration with Toxin?

I like their collaborations, but…

I hope they’re not involved while they’re still with TaKa ㅠㅠ

Waiting was hard this time ㅠㅠㅠㅠ]

└ I agree, I wanted to see the choker… stage… ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

└ That reaction broadcast… was it to comfort us because of the canceled schedule? ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

└ I’m so grateful for the new song ㅠㅠㅠ

└ I want to see it so bad ㅠㅠㅠ

└ Me too ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

[E-Percenters, I have a question.

The new song that’s coming out…

Is it composed by Ji-ji and written by Rangi?]

└ Reverse.

└ What do you mean ‘reverse’…?

└ Ji-ji composed, Rangi wrote the lyrics lol

└ Ah, sorry lol

└ If they wrote and composed this one too… crazy…

└ Why ‘crazy’?

└ I wonder if they sleep at all ㅠㅠ

└ Seriously…

[I personally hope they include even a tiny bit about their past.

Even those who say they don’t want to know are still curious.]

└ Not me.

└ Yeah, not me either ^^

└ But it would be touching if they did…

└ Right… E-FAN was a mess with all the fighting between those who wanted to know their past, those who said we should respect their privacy, and those who told both sides to stop fighting.

└ It was a mess.

└ But I think I’d feel sad if they released something because of that ㅠ

└ Why?

└ Because it means E-UNG saw all the drama in E-FAN ㅠ

└ Ah…

「I hope E-UNG won’t be hurt」

Joo-yeon quickly backspaced, deleting what she had typed.

It was the third week of May 2015, about 10 minutes before the release of E-UNG’s new music video.

Joo-yeon was listening to her playlist of “DUO,” “Hot Afternoon,” “Some,” “Wise,” and “Bang Bang,” sharing her excitement for the new music video on E-FAN.
