Siblings Work in Business (44)
“What are you doing?! Hahaha!”
Hahaha.
The moment Eun-ho pressed two combs, which appeared out of nowhere, against my temples, saying, “Let’s reboot”…
I brushed his hands away irritably, but despite the slight pain, I burst out laughing, my tension easing.
Eun-ji, finally calming down, said,
“Seriously, are you crazy? Ha…”
It was an aggressive tone, but it was more of a sarcastic joke, like, “I can’t with you.”
But perhaps Eun-ho’s unorthodox(?) treatment worked; the next take was perfect, and the director gave us an “Okay.”
“Now, let’s move to the door.”
We changed locations.
We stood in front of a black door.
This scene involved slowly raising my head and reciting the lyrics from behind the opening door.
It was also the scene with the shortest estimated filming time.
“Finally.”
As Eun-ji’s solo scenes ended…
Cloud Dance Team members started stretching, removing their blankets one by one.
Because the next scene was the choreography with the shirts.
“Ah, it was warm.”
Eun-ho also removed his blanket and headed towards the camera, following Cloud Dance Team.
The set change didn’t take long, as they only had to remove the door from the center.
In front of the giant green chroma key wall…
Stepping on the real grass, thanks to the director’s insistence, the feeling of the cold soil was surprisingly refreshing.
“Should we make the circle smaller in this section?”
“That would be better. It’s a bit cramped to fully spread out.”
“And then Eun-ji and I turn here…”
Cloud, Eun-ho, and Eun-ji practiced the choreography briefly to check the formation and balance.
“Eun-ji, Eun-ho.”
Director Go, watching their practice, called them over, seemingly having a good idea.
There was a part in the “DUO” choreography where Eun-ho stood close behind Eun-ji, and then they switched positions while turning.
“During that part, let’s have a close-up on Eun-ji’s face, and after the position change, Eun-ho, please look directly at the camera.”
“Okay.”
“And then, while following the choreography, before the hook, ‘I thought it was a dream,’ push the camera like this.”
Director Go added a more detailed explanation, using hand gestures.
“Like this?”
“Yes, perfect.”
As Eun-ho copied him and asked, Director Go smiled and nodded in satisfaction.
“Alright, let’s do it.”
“Okay!”
“Don’t be nervous, we can always retake it.”
It was a one-take scene.
The director repeatedly reassured them, but Eun-ho and Eun-ji exchanged glances.
‘Don’t mess up.’
‘You either.’
Neither of them wanted to make a mistake, out of pride.
Before they started filming…
Eun-ho and Eun-ji briefly practiced their steps.
“Don’t mess up the steps this time.”
“I messed up earlier because I was n-nervous, since I was starting.”
“Ah, I see.”
“You better do well!”
Despite their rough banter, their steps, as they practiced, were perfectly synchronized.
The Cloud team members smiled, watching the two.
“Ready!”
In front of the camera.
It was a magical phrase that made them nervous.
‘This is completely different from filming the choreography video in the practice room.’
Although we were lightly dressed, it was our first time properly dressed up and in front of a camera.
Perhaps that’s why…
Both Eun-ho and Eun-ji looked a bit excited.
“Action!”
But the moment the director gave the signal…
They put on their serious, practiced expressions and moved to the familiar rhythm.
Perhaps because we had practiced the dance hundreds of times…
Our bodies reacted to the beat instinctively.
“Wow.”
“Shhh.”
One of the staff members watching from behind the camera accidentally let out an exclamation.
His colleague shushed him, and thankfully, they avoided an NG.
‘Siblings…’
Although their makeup made a big difference, it couldn’t completely mask Eun-ho and Eun-ji’s similar features.
The dynamic yet controlled choreography and the perfectly synchronized lyrics were also impressive.
But what truly impressed him was Eun-ho and Eun-ji’s seamless teamwork.
‘Celebrities are celebrities.’
The costumes weren’t particularly different from the dance team’s; they were just black and white.
But the staff member’s gaze was fixed on Eun-ho and Eun-ji.
Even if death separates us, we’ll always be together
Then…
Eun-ji smiled playfully and jumped lightly, holding Eun-ho’s hand.
As Eun-ji moved, the oversized shirt, with its unbuttoned top, fluttered like a dress.
Hand in hand, we’ve faced death
Eun-ho held Eun-ji’s hand with one hand and extended the other towards the dance team.
Cloud Dance Team, dressed in black, stretched out their arms towards Eun-ho’s hand, forming a large mass.
‘Wow.’
It was a surprisingly effective visualization of a nightmare.
Eun-ho casually waved his arm, dispelling the nightmare.
At his gesture, Cloud Dance Team smoothly transitioned into their formation.
But why aren’t you saying anything today
Eun-ho casually swayed his index finger from side to side as he sang.
Cloud Dance Team followed his hand movements.
Eun-ho’s control over them seemed almost like puppetry.
Ah, reality hits me
And Eun-ji’s sudden shift from a playful smile to a blank expression, along with the change in beat, added a chilling effect.
‘How much did they practice…?’
Eun-ho’s synchronization with the dance team was perfect.
‘Are they connected by strings?’
The staff watching the choreography wondered that, even though they knew it was a rehearsed performance.
Eun-ji stepped forward with a lonely expression and whispered sadly.
She tilted her head and covered her eye with one hand.
‘This is it.’
It was the scene Director Go had specifically added.
Director Go crumpled the storyboard he was holding, seemingly gripping it too tightly.
As Eun-ji turned…
Eun-ho smoothly switched positions with her, as if reading her mind.
Standing behind Eun-ji, Eun-ho mirrored her movements, his arm in the same position.
So, Eun-ho, before turning, had his hand covering his eye, just like Eun-ji.
As the director requested, Eun-ho stared at the camera through the gap between his fingers, revealing his calm, deep brown eyes.
The room I found is empty
Eun-ho whispered the lyrics and then pushed the camera away, as instructed.
The director jumped up excitedly and yelled,
“Okay! Cut! Perfect! That’s it!”
The chair he was sitting on fell over.
Unfazed, the director clapped, celebrating the perfect shot.
There wasn’t a single mistake, not even a slight misstep or a flicker of nervousness.
Their expressions, hand gestures, gazes, everything was perfect.
‘I like these kids.’
How could he dislike people who allowed him to leave work on time?
Since it was a one-take scene, he had been worried about NGs and the tight schedule, but thankfully, it went perfectly.
“Let’s share! I’m cold!”
“No! It’s dirty!”
“Dirty? You’re the one who doesn’t shower, so shut up!”
It seemed like the staff had taken Eun-ho’s blanket during filming.
Eun-ho and Eun-ji were bickering in front of the monitor over a blanket.
“Lee Eun-ho, just use your own!”
“My blanket’s gone!”
“Fuck off! Find it yourself!”
“If you’re going to be like that, I’ll rip off all the heat packs I attached!”
“No!”
Although Eun-ho whispered even when he was angry, Eun-ji’s voice occasionally rose in volume.
“Just share while we’re monitoring…”
Surprisingly, it was Hyun-woo who mediated their fight.
“I’ll find it quickly. I’m sorry, I should have kept a better eye on it…”
“Hyung…”
Hyun-woo, apologizing, looked like a puppy with its tail between its legs.
Eun-ho helped Hyun-woo up, telling him it was okay, and then looked at Eun-ji.
It was a signal to do something, and also a way to exploit Eun-ji’s weakness of not being able to ignore someone like this.
“Ugh, f-fine, I’ll share…”
As expected…
Eun-ji sighed and gave him half of the blanket.
“Use your own when the manager brings it back.”
“I would have anyway.”
Although they were sharing a blanket, there was enough space between them for another person.
But after wrapping themselves in the blanket, they focused on their work again.
Their lips slightly parted, their eyes focused on the monitor…
Although they kept their distance, their expressions, as they monitored the footage, were identical.
Director Go Tae-seo smiled faintly, watching them.
“Alright, let’s change outfits!”
Director Go clapped and announced after they finished monitoring.
Excitement returned, along with the cold they had forgotten while focusing.
‘Finally! Escape from the cold!’
Everyone thought that.
Because the next outfits were warmer.
“While we’re filming Eun-ho’s solo shots, the others can…”
Eun-ho also thought he was free, until Director Go continued…
‘Ah.’
Eun-ho’s face was frozen in a strange smile.
‘Right.’
I hadn’t filmed my solo shots yet.
I had completely forgotten, even though I knew the order.
Completely.
While the dance team members and Eun-ji were changing, Eun-ho filmed the scene where he falls asleep under the cherry blossom tree.
And as the others returned one by one, he started preparing for the ‘water scene.’
“I’ll be counting on you, Eun-ho.”
“Yes…”
Why did I think this scene would be CGI when I read the storyboard…?
My previous music videos didn’t have such elaborate scenes.
And definitely no water scenes like this.
“The water temperature is as warm as we could make it. It might cool down quickly because of the cold weather, though…”
Perhaps feeling sorry for me having to go into the water in this weather…
A staff member, who was mixing dye into the water with a stick, said.
‘Even normal water would make me hesitate in this weather…’
The shallow pool I was about to enter was filled with pitch-black water, as if someone had poured ink into it.
