Romantic Farce [Marriage First, Love Later]

Jiang Zao had always thought Xie Lisheng didn’t care for her—in fact, she suspected he even looked down on her a little.

Fortunately, she felt exactly the same way.

After years without any contact, they met again at a blind date. She set down her teacup and shifted her gaze away from the face sitting across from her, handsome enough to exceed her standards for a potential partner. Then she told him,

“Sorry, you’re not my type.”

One day later, Jiang Zao ran into him in the company pantry.

Xie Lisheng undid the top button of his shirt collar and leaned lazily against the counter, sipping his coffee. “After work, come have a drink with me? We can call it a date.”

Jiang Zao glanced at him, her gaze flat and merciless as she turned him down. “Sorry, President Xie. I still have some basic morals.”

“I can’t go on a date with a married man.”

Xie Lisheng replied breezily, “Didn’t I already tell you? There’s no real feeling between my wife and me.”

She glared at him and emphasized, “I’m married too.”

Xie Lisheng said shamelessly, “I don’t mind being the other man. Who would know if you don’t say anything?”

With that, he leaned in closer and laid his hand over hers.

Jiang Zao’s heart jolted, and she instinctively glanced toward the door to check if anyone was watching.

Xie Lisheng’s long, slender fingers trailed over the plain band on her ring finger, then tapped her wristwatch. “Mrs. Xie, the Apple Watch you’re wearing this morning? That’s mine.”

“Cut the act.”

“Want to switch back?”
