Fu Tangli’s heart is filled with sorrow. She lies in Zhao Shangjun’s embrace, crying until the tip of her nose is red and her elegant coiffure is in disarray, a truly pitiful sight.

Zhao Shangjun, utterly content, patiently coaxes her, “What’s so special about being a Crown Princess? Zhen is making you the Empress. Is that not better?”
